The municipality of Berndorf is a VIA NOVA municipality. In the course of redesigning the "old village square", the municipality of Berndorf installed a VIA NOVA fountain in front of the Neuwirt inn in autumn 2013. This fountain on the European pilgrimage route VIA NOVA is a sign that the municipality of Berndorf is also located on this pilgrimage route and is part of this pilgrimage route community.

Since 2022, information about the municipality and VIA NOVA can be listened to by means of an audio guide at the Bärenbrunnen (Bear Fountain) next to the parish courtyard and a rest area built by the rural youth.
