The Mattsee
The Mattsee as one of the three "Trumer Seen" with its 3.6 square kilometres, is one of the warmest bathing lakes in the province of Salzburg. Like its "neighbours", it is characterised by particularly good water quality.
There are two lido baths at Mattsee: One - as the first bathhouse in the country at that time - the historic bath in the village of Mattsee; it was built in the 1920s in Art Nouveau style and is a listed building. The second lido is located on the northern shore of the lake in Gebertsham.
If you are drawn to the water, you may want to explore the lake and its shores via surfboard or as a stand-up paddler. Or rent a pedal boat, rowing boat or electric boat and enjoy the views and the gentle breeze on the lake. The tranquillity is also appreciated here - as is well known, motorboats are not allowed on any of the Trumer lakes. The Seenland shipping - a comfortable and relaxing way to "get out on the water". The electrically powered excursion boat travels on both the Mattsee and the Obertrumer See - and is thus the only boat in Austria on two lakes at the same time.
