From chapel to chapel

The circular chapel trail in and around Mattsee is intended to emphasise the contemplative note even further. It is ideal for pilgrims, hikers or guests who want to appreciate and rediscover nature in Mattsee.

The Kapellenrundweg consists of two loops, both of which have the same starting point: the car park in Weyerbucht. There are further parking options at the Egelseen car park or the North car park. This means that the two routes can be ideally combined if you want to visit all the chapels.

The blue The second round leads via Saulach, Obernberg and Leitgermoos to Schlaham. Meanwhile, you can marvel at the Egelseen lakes on the left-hand side. The route continues via Paltingermoos, Untermayrhof and Obermayrhof to the summit of the Buchberg. There you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama. The route continues directly along the Obertrumer See to the Wartstein. From the Wartstein chapel, you have a wonderful view over the entire Obertrumer See. Finally, the trail leads you through Mattsee back to the starting point.

The green The second lap, on the other hand, is a lot shorter. It leads northwards to Überfuhr. Then to Zellhof and along the Grabensee through the nature reserve. From there you reach Moorbad and Aug and then back to the starting point.
