A festival of anticipation from 30 November to 22 December 2024
The "Mattseer Advent" transforms the market square and its surroundings into a wonderful, glittering place with Christmas lights. The festively decorated town and the lovingly decorated wooden huts on the lakeside promenade create an inviting atmosphere that invites you to stroll and linger. The scent of mulled wine, roasted almonds and fresh pastries fills the air and creates a feast for the senses.

The candle lights of 40 lanterns with artistic silhouettes lead from the Weyerbucht, Schlossbergweg, Bajuwarengehöft to the Advent market by the lake. Enjoy the idyllic Lantern pathin the run-up to Christmas until New Year's Eve. The lanterns are lit with candles at the weekends.
The wish fulfilment tree
One tree has a very special role again this year: the "Wish fulfilment tree" at the market place in front of the Café Neuhofer. On it hang the wishes collected by the Flachgauer Tafel. Each wish on this tree represents the hope of a special Christmas present for people in our region who are less fortunate. This heart-warming campaign is organised by the polytechnic school Mattsee, which makes it possible for many wishes to come true. And this is how it works: To the description
Advent market by the lake with Christmas market at the Stiftskeller Mattsee with delicious treats and handmade gifts, food, handicrafts and gift ideas, Diabelli choir, brass players from the traditional music band and a visit from St Nicholas.
