Shoemaking - Manuela Kendler
Shoemaking - Manuela Kendler, Hauptstraße 64, 5164"Matching shoes from real master craftsmen"
The dying trade of the wainwright (the "carmakers of the Middle Ages") has left its production site - the old wainwright's cottage in Seeham - to an even older craft, namely shoemaking. Now this trade is experiencing a new heyday in Seeham thanks to master shoemaker Manuela Kendler!
The necessary tools with which Manuela creates fascinating works of art have remained almost the same for centuries.
Knocking, pinching
and rasps
Thanks to her training at renowned workshops in Vienna, Florence and Goisern, Manuela is a master of the traditional welt sewing typical of classic men's shoes or the double-stitched style usually used for mountain boots. The result is shoes that please both feet and eyes in equal measure.
