Our village-like village is located on the Upper Austrian-Salzburg border at Mattsee and is surrounded by forests and rolling hills.
The Tannberg offers a wonderful view of the foothills of the Alps and the Innviertel and invites you to go hiking with its Tannberg circular trail. Afterwards for refreshment: the natural bathing beach Gebertsham is ideal for carefree bathing pleasures with the whole family.

When you come to us in Lochen, you'll want to take it easy ...

You may be contemplating one or two excursions to Salzburg or the surrounding area, but afterwards you want to rest and relax. You have made a good choice with our village: It is cosy here and the clocks go a little slower. If you like, take a nice hike, for example up the Tannberg, and enjoy the phenomenal view. You can also go horseback riding or take a carriage ride here.

Back in the village, you may want to visit the parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary - the baroque high altar is by the master Meinrad Guggenbichler.

Walter Scheel (former German Federal President) married his wife in the daughter church of the Holy Cross in the district of Gebertsham in 1988. This late Gothic church has a single nave with a west-sided ridge turret dating from around 1500. The winged altar from the 16th century is attributed to Gordian Guckh. Wall paintings were last discovered in the church: 178 multi-coloured plant ornaments, several consecration crosses and murals can still be seen today.
