Emperor Franz Joseph and its Consort Sisi always spent their summer holidays amidst the picturesque landscape of the Salzkammergut.
Following in the footsteps of the Habsburgs past crystal-clear lakes and imposing mountain peaks, the leisurely tour with impressive scenery through the federal states Upper Austria, Salzburg and Styriawhich already made Gustav Klimt go into raptures.

Since this Tour around a Circuit If you are a cyclist, you can start anywhere along the 365 km long cycle path.

The ideal starting point is the festival city Salzburg. About the Route of the historical Ischlerbahn we head to Eugendorf and via the Mozart village of St. Gilgen on to St. Wolfgang and the famous imperial town of Bad Ischl.

The route then leads into the UNESCO World Heritage region around Lake Hallstatt back to Bad Ischl and on via Aurach am Hongar to Lake Attersee and Lake Mondsee.

The next stage leads to the Salzburg Seenland to Mattseewhere a visit to the Ferdinand Porsche Erlebniswelten "fahr(T)raum" with the Kaiserwagen is not to be missed.
About Seeham and Obertrum on the lakewhere a short rest in one of the shady guest gardens is recommended, the trail leads back to the starting point in Salzburg.
