Linden at thurn

Your box seat in Berndorf - Cradle lounger "Linde am Thurn

If you take the "Haunsberg-Weg" from the village, you will come from Oberkarellen to Stadl, via Buchwinkl, Maierhof and Mangerberg to Kalchgrub. The lime tree can be seen from afar. After a short climb, you reach your destination.

The lime tree at Thurn is located above the Kalchgrubergut at an altitude of 687 metres. It was planted in 1912 by August Haberl, Kalchgruberbauer, and was declared a protected natural monument in 1992.

The property and the lime tree are now owned by the Salzlechner family, landlords in Schwand. It is a beautiful lookout point and has been newly signposted. It is well worth a visit. The view into the village, far into Upper Austria and south into the mountains is unique.

Cradle "gehma dam shows" - A new cradle was purchased in 2020!

It stands by the new flood protection wall in Furtholz. According to the motto, "gehma Staumauerschauen", the dam wall in Berndorf has become a popular destination for many hikers and walkers and was the reason for setting up another cradle couch at this location.
The sight of this mighty, imposing structure makes many interested people make their way to the dam wall. After a leisurely walk through the Furtholz, you can observe how a small biotope is developing in the area of the wall and enjoy the beautiful view all the way to the cradle at the "Linde am Thurn".
